Where you live in the US matters a great deal in how much you will pay in premiums to insure your vehicle. Insurance.com did a survey and has come up with some interesting facts.
Did you know that Louisiana has the highest premiums of all the states for vehicle insurance? It is true with the average vehicle premium reaching over $2700. What might surprise some people is that number is actually down from last year by a solid 3 percent.
New York is the next highest with an average of just over $2,000. This, too, is down from last year. The reduction was in the 4 percent area.
If you want the least expensive auto insurance you will have to go to Wisconsin. This state offers the least expensive insurance with the average being around $1300 per year. Ohio is close to that average as well.
It may come as a surprise to consumers but only 8 states actually rose in premiums during the first half of 07.
Most states had decreases with North Carolina leading the way. West Virginia, the District of Columbia, and Arkansas were among the biggest winners with lowered premiums for the driving public
